Place
The place component of descriptive epidemiology focuses on where health related staes or events are occuring most or least frequently (Merrill, 2013). It often involves comparisons between or among geographical regions and can include gorups, states, and countries which again can be made to provide valuable insights into the causes of disease (Merrill, 2013). Perhaps most importantly, studies upon migrant before and after migration can provide insight as to whether or not genetics and the environment play a significant role in the disease acquisition (Merrill, 2013).
